Here are some interesting facts that relate to Brandy's life and her story.  Some of these facts you can clearly see the hand of Almighty God at work.

  • How did we get the name of this website?  The day Brandy went back to the PICU on January 18th the nurse had written on the dry-erase board that has the patient's name and the date:  "Brandy's Ballroom"

  • When I went into labor at 26 weeks the doctors said that 90% of women who go into labor this early deliver within 2 weeks.  By God's grace...I made it an additional 10 weeks.

  • If I would have delivered Brandy at 26 weeks she would have had about a 20% chance of surviving.  If I delivered at 28 weeks the odds of her surviving would have jumped to 80%.

  • The blood pressure flowing through her lungs was so high as a result of the defects in Brandy's heart that if we would have waited longer to have surgery there probably would have been permanent damage to her lungs.

  • Brandy had several pulmonary hypertension episodes on the 18th of January which eventually led to her heart stopping.  Having a pulmonary hypertension episode as far out of surgery as Brandy was only happens to about 5% of kids.  The surgeon said that he usually only sees this problem in kids from India.

  • 70% of kids who have an episode like Brandy did on January 18th can never be resuscitated.
