There have been times in which we did not understand something or know what something was...from procedures to equipment to a diagnosis, etc. We always try to do as much research as possible to learn the most we can, but sometimes information is hard to come by. A Low-Profile Mic-Key Button is what Brandy has, and it is inserted in her stomach with a port that sticks above her skin about 1/4". It has a balloon inside her stomach to keep it in place . It is used for feeding, administering medicines and burping. To "burp" Brandy we attach the adapter tube to her Button and open all clamps. We put the open end in a snack-sized ZipLoc baggie. We try to burp her at least 15 minutes before each feeding. Sometimes we gently pull the contents through her tube with a large syringe. That seems to get things going. |
